iPiccy Photo Editor, In Case You Are Going To Miss”Picnik”

Picnik is a online photo editing tool that Google recently acquired. After joining the Google team, they continued to work on this product but recently, they announced that they will be closing down Picnik.com and working on Google’s own products to bring the photo editing capabilities, mostly Google Plus I guess.

So, where will you go when Picnik is closed? iPiccy seems to be a good option. Lets find out.

iPiccy’s UI looks similar to Picnik so it won’t take much time for you to get used to it. Options are arranged in almost similar menus. It has the basic set of functions listed in the first menu,  Auto-fix, Rotate, Crop, Resize and Color adjustment and Sharpen.

It also has additional special effects like Liquify, painter, vignette, pencils, and many more. HDR effect seems to be a really good one! Once you finish editing your photos, you can add text or frame to the image.

Another advantage here is, you don’t need to register to use this service. Fire-up the app and you are ready to go! You can upload a photo from your computer, take one using your webcam or give a image URL or import from your Facebook account. If you just want to try the service, you can use one of the sample images available for you.

A “Retouch” section is available if you want to fine-tune subjects on your picture. It will be interesting to use “Mascara” and “Teeth Whiten”!!

The Painter option gives you a lot more options, with a photoshop-like UI. You can work with tools available, like brush, pencil, burn, dodge, hand tool and layers etc.

Overall, this app qualifies to be must have for those who love to play with images and need an online tool.
