Note: This is only for Chromebooks for Enterprise and Educational Institutions, devices bought directly from Google. Here is the method as explained in the Google Help site, followed by a video.
This should be done by an admin before giving away the Chromebooks to an employee or student.
- Start the Chromebook.
Power up your Chromebook by pressing the power button on the top-right corner of the keyboard. - Select your language.
On the “Let’s get started” screen that appears, select the interface language to use by default. If prompted, select a keyboard input method too. - Connect to a network.
Select a Wi-Fi network from the network menu. - Accept the terms of service.
The Chromebook downloads any available system updates. - Before signing in to the Chromebook, press the key combination Ctrl-Alt-E.
The enrollment screen appears. - Enter the user name and password you received in your welcome letter from Google, or the user name and password for an existing Google Apps user on your account.
After enrolling, your account becomes the owner of the Chromebook, so you can enroll with any user from your Google Apps account. All owner settings are controlled from the Google Apps control panel. - Click Enroll device.
The Chromebook is now enrolled and will follow the organizational policies you define.
